HEALTH CAMP.
Final Arrangements Now Made. Final arrangements for the children’s camp at Okains Bay were discussed at a meeting yesterday afternoon of the Sunlight League Health Camp subcommittee. The children will go into camp on January 3. At the meeting, Dr L. C. L. Averill presided. It was stated that, as an open-air manuka shelter was now in the course of erection at the bay, additional girls were being taken this year. Already thirty-tw r o girls between the ages of ten and twelve years had been selected. The following schools had nominated prefects to act as Arihi. each being in charge of a hapu of eight little girls: St Margaret's, Thelma Stacey (Ngatimamoe Hapu) and Amberley House, Joan Whitcom.be, fortnight each (Waitaha); Avonside Gills’ High School, Jean Duthie (Waitaha); Selwvn House and West Christchurch District High School, fortnight respectively, Joan Anderson and Thelma Grigg (Xgatimahaki). Offers of help had been accepted from many sources. Several requests had been received to put small boys into camp, but, it was stated, the cost would render this impossible. Possibly next year such a camp could be arranged.
