PAPANUI LIBRARY.
The annual meeting of the Papanui Library Committee was held last evening, Mr E. C. Ayrfy presiding over a good attendance of subscribers. The report stated that the year had b«en very successful. The membership had increased by 20 per cent and the finances were in a sound position. Mr E. H. Andrews, representing the City Council, said that the council was sympathetic in regard to the request for extensions. Papanui’s offer to help with the cost of the new building could hardly b'e refused. The following officers were elected:— ■President. Mr E. C. Ayrey; vice-presi-dent, Mrs V. Barnett; secretary, Mr Morris; librarian and treasurer, Mrs M. M. Hall; committee, Mesdames Reynolds, Messrs Austin, C. Rawnsley, S. W. Young, J. Gray, J. W. Butcher and G. Barnett.
