Sir John Simon to Tour European Capitals. LAST EFFORT ON DISARMAMENT. United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, December 14. The “ News-Chronicle ” states that Cabinet has approved of Sir John Simon (Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs) touring the Continental capitals during' the Christmas recess as part of the Government’s dramatic bid to secure an agreement on disarmament. The cities to be visited include Paris, Rome and Berlin. At Berlin the Foreign Secretary •will meet Herr Hitler and Baron von Neurath. The “News-Chronicle” adds: “Cabinet hopes that Sir John Simon will be able to effect a Franco-German rapprochement, at the same time learning more precise details of Signor Mussolini’s plans for reform of the League of Nations. He will start his tour on December 21, going direct to Italy and afterwards to Paris."
