SOUTH BRIGHTON GALA.
The Management Committee of the South Brighton Gaia met last night in the Surf Club pavilion. The president (Mr J. S. Ainsworth) was in the chair. It was decided that stalls should not be let to professionals, and that a letter should be forwarded to the Tramway Board asking that the inclusive fares for adults should be 9d return, and for children over four years 5d return while travelling on the tram and bus between Cathedral Square and Pleasant Point Domain. Tt was submitted that the suggested slight decrease in fares would be counterbalanced by a larger number of passengers. The Tramway Board will consider this application at its meeting next Monday.
An interim report was submitted by the organiser and arrangements are well in hand for the printing of the programme, and the manning of the stalls, gates, etc. A preliminary meeting of representatives of the three participating clubs is to be held to arrange a series of socials and dances to augment the funds for the gala.
