BROADSIDING SPORT.

Possibility of Meetings this Season. With the arrival in Christchurch of “ Tiger ” Stevenson, the British champion broadsiding rider, there is a possibility of the broadsiding sport being revived at Monica Park for a portion of this summer. If C. Blacklock (Canterbury) and W. Kilmister (Wellington) are available, they and Stevenson would form a trio worthy of any meeting. The directors of Stadiums (Christchurch), Ltd., decided some time ago that the time was not opportune for carrying on the sport for another season, in view of the heavy expense involved. However, it was stated today that if conditions changed—and it was recognised that Stevenson’s visit had a bearing on those conditions—there was every prospect of the question of re-optning being given favourable consideration.
