FREE KINDERGARTENS.

Close of Successful Year Reported. < FINANCES SATISFACTORY. The December meeting of the Christchurch Free Kindergarten Association took place on Thursday in the Y.M.C.A. rooms, when Mrs H. Thacker presided. Members present were: Mesdames Hadfleld, Dunbier, Retallick, Aitken, Rodda, Lester, Peverill, Reeby, Williamson, Robinson, Hitchcock, Bundy, Stuart, and Misses Hull, M’lllraith, Gordon and the secretary. It had been arranged to hold a Christmas party at each of the kindergartens next week. At New Brighton the little ones had been busy making small gifts for their parents. Thanks to the co-operation of local committees with the teachers’ and parents groups, the year, though uphill, had been a happy one. Mrs K.
