FIRE IN SYDENHAM.

House Slightly Damaged This Morning.

The Fire Brigade was called this morning to 43, Durham Street, Sydenham, where a small fire had started in the roof of a house. The blaze originated, it was stated, from the operations of painters, who were burning paint from a wall. The flames worked up through the weatherboarding and secured a hold in the roof above the front passage. The brigade had little difficulty in extinguishing the flames, and not much damage was done. The house is owned by the occupier, Mrs R. O’Brien.
