An interesting repercussion of Governor Rolph’s attitude regarding lynching occurred to-day when Dr Henry Darlington, rector of the Protestant Episcopal Church of Heavenly Rest at New York, retracted his praise of lynching lie said he was sorry he had praised Governor Rolph. “It was the result of being deeply stirred at the time,” he explained. lie announced his change of attitude at the morning services after a group of theological students had picketed his church and denounced him.
