Concert and Prize-giving at Riccarton. The annual concert and prize-giving of the Riccarton Band of Hope was held on Fridav evening in the Riccarton Town Hall. The BfiV J. Allan was chairman. A varied programme of musical and elocutionary items under the leadership of Misses Nita Pilkington. A. Musgrove and S. Musgrove was given bv the Knox Church Band of Hope members. The Rev J. Allan, assisted bv Mrs C. W. Barrel!, president of the W.C.T.U., presented the prizes as follows: Senior Grade—lst. Yvonne Dodge, 85 marks, gold medal, first-class certificate; 3rd, Valerie Cater, 75 marks, first-class certificate: 6th. Muriel Mitchell, 50 marks, third-class certificate. Intermediate Grade—2nd. Brenda Blackburn, 95 marks, first-class certificate; 4th. Victor Wise, 93 marks, firstclass certificate; 12th, James Stapleton. 72 marks, second-class certificate; 16th, Muriel M’Clelland, 65 marks, secondclass certificate; 21st, Robert Kinley. 55 marks, second-class certificate; 22nd, Lucv Hampton. 53 marks. third-class certificate; 36th, Ruth Mitchell, 20 marks.
