WEDDINGS.

Evening Ceremony at St Paul’s. CLARK—WALESBY. At St Paul's Presbyterian Church, Cashel Street, the wedding took place on Saturday evening of Lily Fanny, youngest daughter of Mr A. H. 1 Walesby, Bletsoe Avenue, Spreydon, and the late Mrs Walesby, and Burt, third son of Mr and Mrs W. Clark, Wyndham Street, Papanui. The Rev Alan Watson officiated and Mr 11. Williams was the organist. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr Bert Walesby, wore a gown of soit ivory crinkle satin made on classical lines. The bodice had a V-shaped neckline with trimmings of self-covered buttons and long, tightfitting sleeves pointed at the cuffs. The skirt was cut diagonally and was worn full length. Her lovely tulle veil, with its edging of silk radium lace, was held in position by a circlet of orange blossom, and formed a long train over the gown. Her shower bouquet was composed of white roses, stocks, sweet peas and begonias. Miss Rubena Carter, the bridesmaid, wore an attractri-e frock of pale pink floral organdi, the sleeves of which were fashioned with frilled godets of plain organdi. Frilled godets also introduced fullness into the skirt from the hipline, and the waistline was finished with a sash and large bow of plain organdi. Her hat of pink silk straw was trimmed with pink velvet. Her shower bouquet was of salmon pink shaded roses, tritonias and pale blue delphiniums. The bride’s little niece, Dallas Walesby, ifiade a dainty flower girl, wearing a frock of shell-pink crepe de chine. Her peaked Juliet cap, hand crocheted, had ribbon trimmings, and her Victorian posy was made of pastelshaded flowers. The bridegroom was attended by Mr Jack Clark as best man. A reception and dance was afterwards held at Dixieland. Mrs W. H. Walesby, sister-in-law of the bride, who received the guests, wore a smart frock of black and white fiat crepe, finished with bands of fagotting and a smart hat of black silk straw relieved with white trimmings. Deep pink-shaded' roses formed her bouquet. The bridegroom’s mother, Mrs W. Clark, wore a becoming navy frock of premier crepe and a matching hat. Her bouquet was of gold roses and tangerine abutilons. For travelling the bride had chosen a frock of nigger brown flat crepe, the accompanying hat being fashioned in summer weight felt. She carried a smart coat in brown diagonal cloth with a sable collar. WELSH—W EC K ESSE R. The wedding took place last week of Margaret Louise, second daughter of Mr and Mrs W. A. Weckesser, of Stapleton’s Road. Richmond, and William Alexander, second son of Mr and Mrs A. M. Welsh, of Christchurch, late of Halswell. The ceremony was performed by the Rev L. A. North, and the reception which followed was held at the home of the bride’s parents. The bride’s sister. Miss Florence M. Weckesser, was bridesmaid, and the bridegroom’l? brother, Mr Leslie Welsh, was best man. JACOB—FLEMING. At St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Ashburton, on Wednesday evening, the wedding was celebrated of Alice Grace, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs J. A. Fleming, “ Ythan,” Lismore, to John Alexander, only son of Mr and Mrs Jacob, London. The ceremony was performed by the Rev A. D. Kirkland, Mayfield, and the Rev B. Taylor, Hinds, presided at the organ. The bride wore an ivory frock, made with fitting bodice and a fully-flared skirt, and finished with a diamante girdle. Orange-blossom held in place her long embroidered veil, and she carried a bouquet of pale pink and cream roses. Mrs R. J. Biddick, who attended her sister as matron of honour, and the bridesmaid. Miss Trixie Anderson, wore frocks of lime-green lace mounted on satin. Their bouquets were of pink roses and carnations, with touches of mauve. The two small attendants, Misses Mulligan and Lynette Corderv (a cousin of the bride) wore frocks of pale pink and lemon georgette made with puffed sleeves and finished with large bows at the waistline. They carried bouquets of yellow roses. Mr Colin Corbett was best man, and Mr Alan Fleming was groomsman. As the bride left the church she was presented with two horseshoes by her little niece, Alison Fleming, and her small nephew, Fleming Biddick. At the reception held after the ceremony, the guests were received by Mr and Mrs Fleming. Mrs Fleming wore a frock of black georgette and lace trimmed with white, and a black hat. Her flowers were crimson roses. When Mr and Mrs J. A. M. Jacobs left for their wedding tour, the latter was wearing a “frock of royal-blue crinkle crej.ie trimmed with green and white, and a hat of grey straw relieved with blue. She carried a swagger coat.
