Chautemps’s (finance proposals involve £48,172,000, including economies totalling £16,180,000, fiscal control £7,912,000, fiscal changes £11,856,000 and exceptional income £12,208,000. The last item includes receipts from the Government lottery and the profit on minting silver and nickel. Temporary reductions of civil servants’ salaries are again included, though the saving is reduced to £220,000.
