OBITUARY.
Mrs Charles Clark. The death occurred at her residence, “ Thorrington,” in Colombo Street South, early last evening, of Mrs Charles Clark, in her ninety-second year. Mrs Clark was an exceedingly popular hostess some years ago, and at her beautiful home had entertained more visiting cricketers and athletes than any other hostess in Christchurch, and probably in New Zealand. Her late husband, who died in 1907, bought the ground where “ Thorrington ” stands over seventy years ago, and the family never left the old home. Mrs Clark was the mother of Messrs Leonard Clark and Charles Clark. Mr Charles Clark, who still lives in the old home, has been prominently identified with cricket for a large number of years and was captain of the Canterbury team in 1897. The funeral will take place to-mor-row, leaving “ Thorrington,” 60. Colombo Street, for the Linwood Cemetery.
Alexander Legge.
( Received December 4', 12.55 p.m.) CHICAGO, December 3. The death has occurred of Alexander Legge, former president of the International Harvester Company and of Mr Hoover’s Farm Board.
