COLLEGE COURTS.
Reply to Complaint by Domains Board. REFLECTION ON STUDENTS. The report of the discussion at yesterday’s meeting of the Domains Board, and the decision to cancel the Canterbury' College Tennis Club's license tmless the courts it uses in Ilagley Park are “ cleaned up,” is regarded as an unnecessary affront by officials of the club. They declare that the publicity given the matter reflects on the whole University College. “ I had no idea that the Domains Board thought so strongly in the matter,” said Mr J. F. Newbold, secretary of the Canterbury College Tennis Club, when interviewed this morning. “ A ring on the telephone would have settled it. About this time of the year examinations take up every minute of a student’s time, and that is why more attention has not been paid to the courts.
“If we bad known that they ha:l got into a state that roused the board’s objections, we could have had the matter set right. As it is, the courts shall receive attention as soon as we have the time, and that will be within the next few days.”
