WOOLSTON BAND.

Possibility of a Visit to Melbourne. Further consideration has been given to the proposal to send the Woolston Band to Melbourne to compete in the centenary celebrations contest. At a meeting of executive officers the patron (Mr A. L. Cropp) said he considered it would be an excellent idea for the band to try its strength against the best Australian bands. It had a wonderful record of successes in the Dominion. and he was sure that it would bring honour to New Zealand as a whole, and to Canterbury in particular. It was decided to call a further meeting in the near future to formulate a scheme for raising the necessary funds.
