DARING OUTRAGE

EXPRESS WRECKED BY BANDITS. Passengers Shot Down. JAPANESE GUARDS PREVENT MASSACRE. United Prut Aaan.— By Electrlo Telegraph—Copyright. (Received November 28, 11.55 a.m.) SHANGHAI, November 27. A daring outrage was perpetrated by bandits 40 miles east of Tsitsihar on Sunday night. The bandits unbolted the rails of the trans-Siberian Railway and the express, travelling at 50 miles an hour, somersaulted down the embankment. The bandits then opened fire on the passengers who sought to escape from the wrecked train. The Japanese guard, which happened to be travelling on the train, returned the fire and the bandits fled. Several passengers were taken captive and the Japanese lost two killed and several wounded. It is believed that many persons were killed and injured in the wreck.
