Jubilee Fete at Riccarton.
Ideal weather prevailed for the St Peter’s jubilee garden fete, held this afternoon by courtesy of the vicar, the Rev H. T. York, and Mrs York in the quaint and picturesque vicarage grounds at Riccarton. A large and representative gathering of past and present parishioners attended the fete and met in a happy reunion. The Rev H. T. York welcomed all to the fair and said it gave him great pleasure to introduce one of the Bowen family in the person of Mrs John Studholme, who would l officially open the fete on such an auspicious occasion. Mrs Studholme, in declaring the fete open, said what happy memories this jubilee festival season brought to many old parishioners present, and wished the fete every success. Musical selections were played by the band of the Ist Canterbury Regiment.
