NORTH BEACH DANCE.
Funds for Renewing of Hall Equipment. The North Beach Ladies’ Social Committee held another successful dance in the North Beach Peace Memorial Hall on Thursday evening. The hall was effectively decorated for the occasion with coloured streamers and lights, the curtains and lampshades of deep marigold tonings giving a vivid note of colour. The committee responsible for the arranging of this enjoyable dance was Mesdames W. A. East, R. Parker and D. M’Keozie. The music was supplied by Jackson’s Band, extras being provided by Messrs Norman Carson and M’Kenzie, while Mr F. J. Bromley acted as M.C. Competitions were won by Mr Brydon and Mr W. R. M’Kenzie, a lucky spot dance by Miss Hooke and Mr Floratjce and a Monte Carlo dance by Miss Hooke and Mr Woods. During the evening Mr E. A. M. Leaver, on behalf of the Peace Memorial Hall Committee, thanked the committee for organising the function, the proceeds of which werebeing devoted to renewing the hall equipment.
