R.S.A. DEBATING CLUB.
Members of the R.S.A. Debating Club gathered at the Tudor tea rooms to farewell Mr Duncan M’Diarmid prior to his departure for Dunedin. Mr C. Miln thanked Mr M’Diarmid for the assistance he had given to the club in the capacity of judge, adviser and friend. Mr R. K. Elliott, on behalf of the club, presented Mr M’Diarmid with a case of pipes and expressed appreciation of the spirit of fellowship he had displayed in all his activities. Everyone present spoke of the high esteem in which Mr M’Diarmid was held, and wished him well in days to come. In reply, Mr M’Diarmid thanked the | club for the happy hours they had ! afforded him during his stay in this J city, and remarked on a few outstanding incidents that would remain ever- | green in hfis memory. Messrs R. Speirs, N. Wood, Rowberry, Jessett, Hibbert, Helman, Hart- ! lev, Atkinson and Collins were amongst | those present.
