Miss K. W. Allen, Fendalton, has returned from the North Island. Miss Mona Nicol, Picton, is the guest of Professor and Mrs A. H. Tocker, Fendalton, for race week. Mrs Allan Matson, Rossall Street, who has been visiting Mrs Alex Johnston, Blenheim, has returned home. Mrs W. S. Bean, Beverley Street, has returned from a visit to her sister, Mrs Frank *Hay, in Wellington. Captain and Mrs G. T. Garryowen, Morven, are the guests of Mrs C. S. Bowden, Papanut Road. Mr and Mrs Colin Douglas, Waimate, will arrive on Wednesday and will stay with Mr Douglas, Cashmere Hills. Miss Margaret Todhunter, Lake Heron, is the guest of Mrs Norton Francis for Cup week. Miss Diana Orbell, Timaru, will stay with Miss Mary Alexander, Lincoln, for Cup week. Mr and Mrs Ronald Webster, Wellington, are staying with Mr and Mrs Eric Diehl, Bligh’s Road, St Albans. Mrs T. H. Lowry, Okawa, Hawke’s Bay, is visiting Christchurch for Cup week. Miss Jean Carnegie-Brown, Auckland, is the guest of Lady Acland, “ Chippenham," St Albans. Mrs Horace Dyer arrived from Wellington to-day and is staying with her mother, Mrs Rawlings, at the Royal Hotel. Mr and Mrs Alan Benjamin, who have been the guests of Mr and Mrs R. Benjamin, College Avenue, have returned north. Mrs F. Gaukroger, Melbourne, who is visiting relatives in New Zealand, is the guest of Mr and Mrs Hamilton Baird, “ Strowan," for the races. Miss Nancy Teschemaker, “ Avondale," Marlborough, will arrive on Wednesday to stay with Mrs John Montgomery, Fendalton, for the Show. Miss Eileen O’Meeghan and Mr H. F. are visiting Mr L. P. Barrett and Miss Agnes Barrett, "Gresford," Papanui. Sir William and Lady Nosworthy, Ashburton, are staying with Mr and Mrs A. C. Cottrell, Merivale Lane, for the races. Mrs Neill Rattray, Waimate, arrived yesterday to stay with her mother, Mrs George Helmore, “ Millbrook," Fendalton. Mrs G. Z. Pocock (Puaha, Little River), who has been the guest of her daughter, Mrs E. Haines, jun. (Seaview, Okains Bay), has returned home. Mr and Mrs Everard Weld, Flaxbourne, Marlborough, will arrive on Wednesday and will stay at Warwick House. Miss May Weld will be the guest of Mr Walter Clifford and his daughters at Fendalton.
