ROUND THE DANCES.
A “Surprise Night” dance will be held in the Scottish Society’s Hall, Manchester Street, to-night. Mrs Creagh’s orchestra will provide the music. Supper will be provided. Mr Mat.hison will be M.C.
• Bob Bradford and his band will be in attendance at the usual Saturday night flannel dance at Frascati to-night. Next Saturday the Christchurch Corsair social Club will hold its usual fortnightly evening in the Railway Hall, Carlyle Street. The- Women’s Auxiliary of the Canterbury Manufacturers’ Association will hold a social and old-time dance in the St John Ambulance Hall, on Tuesday. A carnival dance will be held in the Regent Hall on Tuesday. Tickets for the charity cabaret at Frascati on Friday are obtainable at Hallenstein’s, Frascati, or the United Service. Seymour’s orchestra will provide the music. The Caledonian Assembly will hold a dance this evening in the Caledonian Hall.. Old and new dances, Monte Carlo and lucky spot will be the features. Paper hats, balloons and streamers will be distributed, and (J. Bradford will supply the music. Bryson’s Band will supply the music for the old-time dance this evening at the Ferry Road Hall, to which lovers of old-fashioned dancing are invited. The popular ninepenny old-time dance will be held on Wednesday next at the Ferry Road Hall. Bryson’s Band will supply the music. On Tuesday evening next, at the Ferry Road Hall, another modern dance with the men of H.M.S. Dunedin will bo held. Judging by the two previous sailors’ dances a good time is assured. Fred AVhltelaw’s Jazz Band will supply the latest dance , music* and special singing numbers by Mr Whitelaw will be introduced. Cabaret supper will be provided.
At the Caledonian Hall on Monday evening the select old time dance will take the form of a Cup Carnival dance. Dancing will continue till one. Ducky spot and Monte Carlo dances will lie held. The Evans-Campbell Band will provide the music, and the gallery will be open for spectators.
Colonel Nicholls, D. 5.0.. and Commander Kerslev, R.N.V.R., are (he patrons of a military and naval ball to take place on Friday, November 10, at the Caledonian Hall. Where possible it IS hoped patrons will wear uniform or decorations. Sub-committees have made final arrangements to ensure the complete success of the ball, which will continue till 1 a.m. The Evans-Camp-bell Band wil provide the music. Tickets are obtainable at Lange’s, tobacconist, United Service buildings. The Evans-Campbell Band will provide the music for a carnival dance at the Sydenham Football Hall to-night. A shilling dance will take place at the Sydenham Football Hall on Wednesday. with the Evans-Campbell Band in attendance. '
