The supporting ; film will be "Don’t Bet on Love,” starring Lew Ayres and Ging'er Rogers. : i Bela Lugosi, star of "White Zombie” ’ ; and other "horror” films, is the central i force in " The Death Kiss.” The chari acter of Count Draeula which Bela . ; Lugosi played for over two years on the . ' stage in New York and the east, and . ' A° r 3e y era l months on the Pacific . Coast, is considered by many critics to , ’ by one of the most difficult roles ever given an actor. Lugosi played r.ne role ! in the motion picture version of the play, and achieved world-wide proniinenct through this excellent characterisation. . Lugosi’s latest screen portrayal is different lrom the usual parts that have , fallen to his lot in talking pictures. In " The Death Kiss,” a mystery thriller that takes place almost entiYely within the confines of a motion picture studio, Lugosi is seen as the studio manager! This role gives him an opportunity to display his effectiveness in a “straight” part, and advance reports indicate that this excellent player again proves his outstanding ability. Others in the cast of this sensational story are Adrienne Ames, David Manners, Joan Wray, Edward Van Sloan, Alexander Carr and many others. Players of unusual prominence, and many of them are featured in " Don’t Bet on Love,” an exciting story of the race tracks, starring Lew Ayres. In the picture, which gives Ayres one of the greatest opportunities to display his acting ability since his memorable performance in “ All Quiet on the Western Front,” there are fourteen roles of importance, outside of the starring part, and each one is played by an actor of great popularity on the screen. Ginger Rogers, sparkling rtd-headed actress, appears opposite Ayres as the sweetheart who tries to win him away from a gambling career. “Don’t Bet on Love ” tells the story of a young plumber who has luck with horses and tries to make gambling a career, against the wishes of his father and his sweetheart.
