The Newmarket second October meeting was continued to-day when the principal event was the Jockey Club Cup. This race last year was a walkover for Brulette, but there were three starters this time. Result:— JOCKEY CLUB CUP. Two miles and a quarter. NITSICIIIN, Mr D. S. Kennedy’s b m, by Achtoi—Latium, syrs 1 CHATELAINE, Mr E. T. Thorn-ton-Smith’s b f, by Phalaris— Herself, 3yrs 2 STATESMAN, Mr V. Emanuel’s br c, by Blandford—Dail, 3yrs .. 3 Only starters. Won by half a length, with the same between second and third.
