Dr Dollfuss spent his forty-first birthday to-day in bed reading congratulatory telegrams. Though the police have arrested five Nazi acquaintances of Dertil (previously this name has been cabled Vergil), and claim to have found Nazi literature in his home, Dertil protests that his crime was not inspired by the Nazis, but solely by the desire to attract attention to his stepfather, Dr Guenther, as the only man who can save Austria. Dr Guenther is the chief Nazi propagandist in Stvria, but Dertil is not in close touch with him. I
