COMING-OF-AGE DANCE.

Party Given in Honour of Miss Joan Cusack.

An enjoyable evening was given recently by Mrs E. L. Blake in honour of the coming-of-age of her granddaughter, Miss Joan Cusack. Mrs Blake received her guests wearing a becoming frock of black lace over gold satin. Miss Joan Cusack’s frock was of shell pink crushed velvet. The hall was decorated with coloured streamers and bowls of pink flowers and the supper room with pink flowers, streamers and bowls of daffodils. The large birthday cake was adorned with twenty-one gold kewpies. The evening was spent in dancing, games and musical items. Competitions were won by Misses M. Wall and E. Algie and Messrs F. Gallon, G. Hobbs and T. M’Laughlin. Items were contributed by Mrs T. Corny ns, Miss Maisie Ottey and Messrs Jock Lockhart, David M’Gill and Cyril Shaw. Music for the dancing was supplied by Len Blogg’s orchestra and Mr A. Billens was M.C. At supper the usual toasts w r ere honoured and the guest of honour was presented w’ith the customary gold key by her father, Mr F. Cusack. Among those present were: —Mr and Mrs F.
