CRICKET.
Annual Meeting of Girls’ Association. As shown by the increased entries in the competitions, the popularity of cricket for girls has increased in a most gratifying manner, stated the second annual report of the Girls’ Cricket Association, presented at the annual meeting last evening. The report further added that the decided improvement in the standard of play was an important item that afforded great satisfaction. In presenting the report and the bal-ance-sheet. which were adopted, the chairman (Miss A. Scott) referred to the great progress of girls’ cricket and she spoke of the valuable services of the secretary (Miss E. L. Harris). Officers were elected as follows: Patron, the Mayoress (Mrs L>. ti. Sullivan); president, Mrs W. Machin: vicepresidents, Mesdames C. L. Young, G. M. Lester and .1. S. Neville; chairman. Mis:! A. Scott; honorary secretary, Miss 91. L. Harris; assistant honorary secretary, Miss R. Grant; honorary treasurer, Miss .1. Gray; executive. Misses M. Richards, IJ. Fellowes, C. Anderson, R. Symons, V. Belworthy, X. Forsvth. C. M’A I lister, E. Smart and N. Cleaver. , Jt was decided to begin tiie competi- : tions on October 2S.
