The Canterbury Public Service Amateur Athletic Association has awarded the Herbert Smith Trust Shield to the Riccarton School junior Rugby football team. who for three years have succeeded in winning the school junior competition. Much of the success of the team has been due to the coaching of Mr B. C. Penney. The shield now has a prominent place in the school.
