Plunket Society’# Final Social. The mernbers of the Templeton branch of the Plunket Society conducted an afternoon tea stall in the Templeton Park on Saturday afternoon, when over £2 was raised towards the funds of the branch. The ladies in charge of the stall were: Mesdames H. J. Harrison, MacKinnon. Hill, Ayers. C. Harrison, and R. Johnston. In the evening the final of the weekly socials was held, a large gathering being present- Competitions were organised, the winners of the prizes being Mrs A. El wood and Mr H. Wright. Aggregate prizes were won by Mrs Childs and Mr J. Watson. As a result of these socials, the funds will benefit by £6 2s. Garden Party at Templeton. About fifty members of the Templeton, Prebbleton and Hornby branches of the Mothers' Union accepted the Invitation of Mrs J. Bailey, Wantwood, Templeton, to attend a garden party at her residence, and all enjoyed a pleasant afternoon. Competitions were held, the winners being Mesdames Tod, Day and Wilson. The visitor* were entertained to afternoon tea. Tui Tramping Club. The first annual meeting of the Tui Tramping Club was held at Hornby on Saturday evening. The balance-sheet disclosed a small credit. Correspondence was read from the Wanderer* Club with an Invitation to be present at a lantern lecture on the “ Port Hills ** by Mr H. O. Ell. It was decided to accept the invitation. The following officers were elected: President. Mr A, Taylor: honorary secretary and trea-
surer. Mr D. S. Mackie; leader. Mr R. J. Roberts. Plans were made for hiking during the Labour Day week-end. ,
