BURGLARY CHARGE.
Youth Said to Have Stolen Articles. (Special to the “Star.”) MASTERTON, August 29. William Munn Macdonald, nineteen years of age, whose parents reside in Wellington, and who was concerned in the recent Palmerston North bank holdup, appeared before Mr J. Miller, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court this morning on seven charges dealing with offences alleged to have been committed in Masterton by accused between May 29 and August 10. One charge related to breaking and entering by- night the dwelling-house of Dr Archer Hosking and stealing one safety razor, a fountain-pen, unemploy--ment and postage stamps, and cheque forms of a total value of £3 19s. Two charges referred to the alleged forgery of cheques to the amount of £3O each. There was anothr charge of entering the dwelling-house of Michael Doy-le at Manaia Road. Accused w-as not represented by counsel but, during the hearing of evidence, interrogated witnesses. Accused admitted the charges after having heard the evidence and was committed to the Supreme Court at Wellington for sentence.
