TIMARU SOCIAL NOTES.
Miss Islip. Woodlands Road, and Miss Hall, Beltana, are visiting Tekapo. Mrs Timaru Rhodes, Hadlow, is visiting Moeraki for a few days. Miss J* R- Barr, Girls' High School, is visiting Christchurch. Miss Bromley Cocks, Christchurch, is on a visit to Geraldine. Mrs A. Kilian. who has been staying at the Grand Hotel, has returned to Christchurch. Mr and Miss Thomas, who have been staying at Te Kaianga, have returned to Otautau. Mr and Miss Turner, Christchurch, who have been staying at Te Kaianga, have left for Waimate. Mrs A. Muir, Christchurch, spent the week-end with Mrs F. Newton, Maltby Avenue. Miss Peggy Unwin has been chosen to represent the United Services in the forthcoming queen carnival. Mr and Mrs C. W. F. Hamilton, Irishman’s Creek, Fairlie, have been staying in Christchurch. Miss Evelyn Adams is spending the holidays with her parents, Mr and Mrs J. W. Adams/ Wai-iti Road. Mr and Mrs C. G. Bryan King, Sealy Street, are staying with Mr A. Garland and Miss Garland, Waimate, for the jubilee celebrations, of St Augustine’sChurch. Mrs King is a daughter of the late Rev F. J. Sotham, who was vicar of St Augustine’s from 1892 to 1896.
