WOMAN STOLE £lO.

(Special to the "Star.”) TIMARU, August 28. Before Justices in the Police Court i this morning a married woman was charged with the theft of £lO, the pro-1 perty of Marshall and Don. j Detective Studholme stated that the ( woman took the money from a desk , while the office girl was out of the j room. When approached she frankly | admitted the theft, and stated that j she had spent £7 on clothes. The balance of the money was returned. Accused was a married woman with four children, and had not been before the Court previously. Accused was convicted and ordered to make restitution within one month. She was admitted to probation for twelve months, and an order was made for suppression of the name.
