AUCKLAND BUSINESS. (Special to the “Star.”) AUCKLAND, August 26. At this morning’s call bidding on the whole was steady. but there was an easier tone in the banking section, several lines being neglected by buyers. Tooth’s Breweries were again offered at 38s, bringing a buyer at 355. Buyers for Refrigerating advanced their limits to 15s 9d, but there were no sellers. The mining section continued to he active, and fresh business was done in Waihis at 255. Buyers for King Solomons moved up to 2s. There was a steady demand for Government stocks. OTHER EXCHANGES. OPOSSUM SKIN SALES. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Dunedin, advise that at the opossum skin sales 37,000 skins were offered. The firm’s catulogue was 24,300 skins. There was a good demand. Compared with the July sale, good to super skins were 6d to Is lower. Secondary grades were firm. Quotations: —Blacks 4s 6d to 13s, browns 3s 7d to Ss, reds 3s to 7s 7d, greys 4s 6d to 10s, blues 5s 3d to 34s 2d, inferior pelts Is lOd to 3s 6d, smalls Is 6d to 4s 6d. LONDON PRODUCE MARKETS.
