During a brief visit here RearAdmiral Byrd revealed his plans for his forthcoming Antarctic expedition. He was not ready to divulge the date of his departure, but said that he would do so within two months. His supply ship has been named Pacific Fur. She is of 8800 tons burden, is a steel ship, and an oil burner, and is ten times as large as the City of New York. A wooden brigantine named the Bear will serve as outpost

The special two-motored aeroplane under construction will be equipped with ski landing gear and will contain spate enough to carrv fifteerf passengers in addition to three of a crew. Her cruising speed ’ will be 155 miles an hour. The complete personnel of the expedition has not been announced, but will include Harold June, one of the three men who made the first South Pole flight. Commander George Noville, veteran of Byrd’s Arctic trip and trans-Atlantic flight, and Scout Paul Sipple. _____________
