NEW POST OFFICE.

Only Three Dunedin Firms Tender. (Special to the “ Star/’) DUNEDIN, August 25. Only three local firms tendered for the erection of the new post office. Many firms did.not tender because of the huge risk involved as a result of the uncertainty of to-day’s prices, which are affected by the conversion scheme and exchange inflation. As a result of this risk, prices are expected to be higher than would ordinarily be the case and there would appear to be some justification for the belief held in some circles that the erection of the building will be further postponed by the department.
