Y.M.C.A. QUEEN CARNIVAL.
Considerable enthusiasm was shown j r»t the executive meeting in connection ) with the Y.M.C.A. queen carnival to be ; held during September and October, i Mr ID. E. Parton, chairman, presided during the early part of the meeting. I the Rev O. Fitz Gerald, vice-chairman, t subsequently occupying the chair. It was decided that there was considerable prospect of outside organisations nominating queen candidates for the carnival and this matter was left in the hands of Messrs W. F. Blackwell. .J. W. Baty, J. Sweney and L. T. K. AlliMrs T. AY. Yoller reported that the Women’s Auxiliary bad nominated Mrs < V. C. Peters as its queen candidate and < that a meeting in support of her candidature would be held on Monday evenplanned.* Mr ID. S. Dodds announced that the Optimists’ queen candidate ; would be Mrs H. F. Baird. The Boys' ; Committee and the Gymnasium Commit- t tee reported considerable progress. Mr AY. F. Blackwell expressed the opinion that everything pointed to the : carnival being a huge success and that there was practically no limit to the range of activities, provided that the i keen competitive spirit, such as shown at the meeting, would be maintained. .
