“NOTHINC FRIED.”
Champion- Boxer and His Wife Agree. (Special to the “ Star.”) SYDNEY, August 15. Tod Morgan, former junior lightweight champion of the world, who reached Sydney to-day avoids food from the frying-pan. Mrs Morgan, who accompanied him, dislikes it also—a happy pair. Some thought they were on their honeymoon when they arrived by the Niagara to-day, but Mrs Morgan said they had been married “ quite a while.” She says that she does not eat fried food because it would not be fair to Tod if she did. “ Keep away from grease,” is Tod’s motto. He does not smoke, and rarely drinks, except for an occasional glass of wine. Mbrgan now turns the scale at 10 stone, but he may get down to 9.12 and fight Kelso. He has had 150 fights in his ring career, which he started at seventeen. He is now twenty-nine. Mrs Morgan never attends his fights although she watches other encounters. In the ring Morgan gives all his attention to his opponent.
