It is alleged that I France has been guilty of a breach of ‘ an undertaking. In the House of Commons to-night the Postmaster-General (Sir Kingsley Wood) stated that the Government had made representations to France, directing its attention to the fact that the French station's broadcasts of advertising matter in English was contrary to a resolution of the International Broadcasting Union against the practice of broadcasting advertisements from one country to another against the recipient’s wishes. The British Government’s policy was opposed to such advertising. Sir W. 11. Davison (Con.), on the other hand, asked the Government to direct the attention of British firms to the advisability of advertising their goods through foreign broadcasting stations.
