-Messrs G. R. Kennedy (Melbourne) and T. E. Wood (Nelson) are staying at the Royal Hotel. Mr Victor Cornaga, New Zealand representative for Dewar's whisky, left Auckland on July 25 by the Aorangi, on a business trip to the Islands. Major G. Dry, officer in charge of the Salvation Army Men's Home at Addington, will return to Christchurch from the North Island on Wednesday. The appointment of Messrs J. S. Jessep (deputy-chairman), Walter Bromley. and P. R. Climie for a further term of two years as members of the Unemployment Board is Gazetted. Messrs M. B. M'Callum (Greymouth), X. Leaper. J. W. Tolley (Dunedini, T. Cattrell, W. J. James (Wellington), J. Huston and L. M'Ginness (Ashburton i are staying at the New City Hotel. At the annual meeting of the Pioneer Sports Club on Saturday evening a motion of sympathy wa- passed with the relatives of the late Mr W. L. Minson. a foundation member of the club. Eulogistic reference was made by Mr P. R. Harman to the late Mr Minson’s services to the 'club.
