Marlborough Titles. BLENHEIM, July 30. The Marlborough provincial boxing championships on Saturday produced a high standard of performance and numerous thrilling fights. The final resulted : Feather-weight—P. Rayner defeated C. Elsmore. Bantam-weight—L*. Thomas defeated T. Harnett. Light-weight—C. Rayner defeated D. Hendra. Welter-weight—C. Rayner defeated R. Morrighan after being floored three times in the last round. , Middle-weight—A. Dasler defeated I. Nicholls on a technical knock-out in the third round. Light-heavy-weight—A. Dasler was not opposed. Heavy-weight—Mason Macdonald 3 4st 21b defeated A. Dasler list sJl<b on a foul in the third round. Benefit Tournament. (Special to the “ Star.”) ASHBURTON, July 30. A benefit boxing tourney was staged by the Ashburton Boxing Association in the Ashburton Stadium on Saturdav night for Mr Keith Cowan, who is well known in boxing and football circles and is at present an inmate of the Ashburton County Hospital. There was a fair attendance. The programme provided several interesting bouts. It. is not yet known what the proceeds amounted to. as a large number of tickets are yet t.o come in, but it will be fairly substantial. All services in connection with the tourney were given gratis. Mr H. Dillon was referee and Messrs A. J. Grigg and J. Cullen were j judges. The results were: Light-weight—.l. Miller lOst 41b beat X. Kerr 9st 101 b; A. Melrose Hst 121 b beat R. Bryant 9st Sib, J.
