FLOOD EXPECTED.
Heavy Rainfall in Back Country. It is expected that the Waimakariri will rise considerably during the next twenty-four hours as a result of the heavy rains to-day and yesterday. Over five inches of rain fell at Arthur’s Pass yesterday, and the weather did not look like clearing to-day.
