MAINTENANCE CASES.
At a sitting of the Magistrate's Court this morning, maintenance offenders were dealt with. Mr IT. P. Lawry, S.M., was on the Bench. James Salt, for disobedience of a maintenance order, was sentenced to one month’s imprisonment, the warrant to be suspended provided that lie pays £3 forthwith and 5s weekly off the arrears in addition to the amount of the order. Allen James Brown was convicted for disobedience of a maintenance order and sentenced to six months’ imprisonment with hard labour, the warrant to be suspended so long as he pays 35s a week off arrears.
The Linwood Rugby' Football Club's church parade was held yesterday- at the Linwood Baptist Church. The Rev N. R. Wood, minister of the church, welcomed the players. His address was based upon “ Let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.” Mr William Bradshaw .sang a solo. It is hoped to make the parade an annual one.
