BETTING FIGURES.

Totalisator Turnover for Past Season. SLIGHTLY BETTER AGGREGATE. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, July 31. With fine weather for the closing meetings, the 1932-33 racing season was enabled to .show a slightly better aggregate totalisator turnover than last season. The result must be very gratifying to those who like to view the totalisator as a barometer of the financial condition of the country. The position for the last four seasons, the final meetings of the closing season being subject to official confirmation, are given in the following table:—

Although the closing season's aggregate is a shade better than last season’s, it -will be observed that there have been seven more days’ racing, and therefore per diem the average is slightly less.

Tote. No. of days. £ . 1929-30 ... ... 240 5.312,484 1930-31 ... ... 238 3,722.049 1931-32 ... ... 232 2,585,105i 1932-33 . . . ... 239 2,585,146i
