DANCE AT PAPANUI.
With the object of raising money for the Mayor’s Distress Fund, the St Albans Ward of the Christchurch City Council held a successful dance in the Papanui Town Hall last evening. The Mayor and Mayoress, Mr D. G. Sullivan, M.P., and Mrs Sullivan, were the guests of honour. Items were contributed by Mr Cummins, Mr North. Hilo Harmony Four, Mr E. Dowell and the Melody Mouth Organ Trio. Music was supplied by Woodward's Orchestra, and Mr F. Harmon was M.C. The committee responsible for the arrangements comprised: Messrs. Bunting (chairman), W. Williams (secretary), C. Woolford (treasurer), Highstead, Gosney, Siddell, Reece, Sullivan, Watkins; Mesdames Ilighstead, Williams, Sullivan, Siddell, Harman, Watkinson and Bunting.
