“NOT OFFICIAL.”

Statement abcut Unemployed Strike. UNAUTHORISED REPORT. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, July 9. In a statement to the “ Evening Post,” Messrs S. Vella and D. M’Laughlin declared that a report in yesterday's issue with regard to a national strike of unemployed was unauthorised and certainly neither official nor accurate. The only statements made so far by the Xational Union of Unemployed had been in writing and signed by responsible officers and no statement would be made at any time without the signatures of the persons issuing the report. This statement is in reference to yesterday’s declaration that a national strike of unemployed would not eventuate.
