SAFE BLOWN OPEN.

Cracksman at Work in Nelson. POLICE GET FINGER PRINTS. (Special to the "Star.”) NELSON, July 8. The premises of P. Howcroft and Co., provision merchants, in Hardy Street, were entered last night and the safe was blown open. The sum of £lO was stolen and cheques were strewn over the floor. It was a neat job and obviously the work of an experienced cracksman. The man helped himself to some beer and the police secured finger prints from a bottle. Entrance to the premises was gained through an office window in the backyard.
