REEFTON ACTIVITIES.

(Special to the “Star.”) REEFTON, July 7. Mrs G. Orsbourn presided over a special meeting of the Reefton Women’s Institute last evening, when Mrs Chisnall (South Canterbury) and Miss Davis (England) gave an instructive and interesting demonstration on weaving, rug and glove making, and the curing of skins, etc. Supper was provided by members, and a most enjoyable and profitable evening was spent. Miss* Davis and Nil's Chisnall gave a demonstration earlier in the day at Inangaliua Junction, when there was a splendid attendance of country members. W.C.T.U. Mrs Thompson presided over the monthly meeting- of the W.C.T.U., when there was a good attendance of members. An interesting paper on “White Ribbon Day ” was given by Mrs Day. It was agreed to hold fixture meetings on the second Tuesday in the month. One new member was enrolled.
