PROVERB PUZZLE CONTEST. Competition has Still Six Weeks to Run. ALTHOUGH the twenty-eighth picture in the “ Christchurch Star’s ” Proverb Puzzle competition is published to-day, the competition has six weeks yet to run, so there is plenty of time to make a bid for one of the cash prizes offered. All you have to do is to fit the most suitable proverb from the “ Star’s ” official list to the pictures published in the “ Star ” on three days of each week. Keep your entries until the series is complete. A competitor has the best chance of winning a big prize if his series is complete, but with forty-five pictures, you are not eliminated if a few are missing; so if one of the pictures baffles you do not think it is hopeless sending in your entry. Start now and watch for the next seventeen pictures, which will be published in the “Star ” on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday of each week. The “ Christchurch Star” offers £2O in cash prizes for this fascinating competition. First prize, £10; second, £3; third, £2; and ten additional prizes each of ten shillings. The previous twenty-seven pictures, together with the official list of proverbs from which the titles to the pictures must be taken and the full conditions of the competition, may be obtained from the “ Star ” Office, Cathedral Square, Christchurch, or by writing to the publisher.
