CHRISTCHURCH HUNT.
Ashburton Committee Holds Meeting. The annual meeting of the Ashburton committee of the Christchurch Hunt Club was held last evening. Mr J. H. Grigg presided. The balance sheet showed that the season began with a credit of £34 4s lOd and ended with a credit of £4l 19s 9d. The president congratulated the committee on the splendid credit balance and also on the successful hunts held, lie extended thanks to the Christchurch Hunt for allowing hounds to be brought to Ashburton, and also thanked those formers who had placed their farms at the disposal of the branch for its hunts. The arrangements made by Mr A. J. Nicoll and the secretary (Mr J. Cochrane) for the forthcoming events were approved. The following officers were elected: President, Mr J. 11. Grigg; vice-presi-dents, Messrs E. F. Newton, Hunter Morris and J. T. Thomas; deputy-mas-ter, Mr A. j. Nicoll; committee, Mesdames A. J. Nicoll. L. R. Clarke, Miss A. Lemon. Messrs F. Fox, J. Lysaght, C. G. C. Harper, Z. Ferriman, A. N. Grigg, J. Cochrane, and T. Lemon; secretary, Mr J. Lewis; field secretary, Mr J. Cochrane; treasurer, Mr P. Bonifant. Mr Nicoll reported that the Christchurch Hunt had given its point-to-pQint trophies to the Ashburton committee for its meeting next Saturday.
