Championship Meeting in Christchurch. SATURDAY'S MATCHES. The twenty-first championship meeting: was held at the Christchurch Miniature Rifle Association's rifle range. Ferry Road, on Saturday, when clubs shot for the various prizes offered. Results:— Wharton Match.. Eight counting shots, with two optional sigrliters, two shots on each bull's-eye. V. Timms (New Brighton, 15 bull'seyes, Barrett Cup and 30s 1 C. Priest (Ford Motors) and J. Edmonds (Sumner), 12 bull’s-eyes, 17s each, equal 2 W. Oakley, jun. (West Melton), 10 bull’s-eyes. 10s 3 R. Hurley (Marist) and P. RiCi.es (R.S.A.), 9 bulls, 8s each. Individual Championship. Eight counting shots, two on each bull, with two compulsory sighters on centre bull not to count. H. Hughes 78, A. Bruning 78, C. Cochrane 77; total 313; each 15s, equal 2 Grand Aggregate. Matches Nos. 1 and 2 are the grand aggregate. A great shoot resulted in H. Haworth (Cashmere), R. A. Nicholl (Wellington) and W. Oakley, jun. (West Melton) being equal with one off the possible. The shoot-off for the President’s Cup resulted in a win for H. Haworth (Cashmere), with 79, and all three riflemen took 25s each prize money. The following took 6s each:—J. Edmonds (Sumner) 158, C. Jessop (Sydenham) 158, P. Riches (R.S.A.) 158, A. Taylor (Cashmere) 158, R. Hurley (Marist) 158. Special Prizes. A special prize valued at £2, donated by Mr C. Walker, for the highest score put on by the President’s team not winning another prize, was won by the Railway No. 1 team. A special prize donated by Mr J. Craig, value £1 Is, for the highest score in Matches Nos. 1 and 2 by President’s man or lady, resulted: —Mrs Caldwell (New Brighton), E. Fanning (Railway) and F. Vincent (Railway) being equal with 68. Each took 6s. A special prize for the highest score by a lady in the aggregate was won by Miss Corser (New Brighton) with 14S. Winter Tournament. The Christchurch Miniature Rifle Association has completed its eighth week’s match in the winter tournament. Targets sent in to the checkers resulted as follows:—W. Guy (W.M.C.) 9, J.
