BANKNOTES BURNED.
Per Press Association. WAIPUKURAU. June 7 Fire broke out this afternoon in the room of the proprietress of the Leviathan Private Hotel. Mrs Fergusson, who lost £25 in notes which had been ! left in a drawer of a dressing table, j j The origin of the fire is a mystery. The : room was empty at the time, the door j locked and a window open. The room i was badly charred. The fire brigade j stopped any further spread. i
