Annual Meeting of the R.S.A. The fourth annual meeting of the Lyttelton branch of the Returned Soldiers’ Association held in the association’s rooms on Monday night was well attended. Mr M. Nelson presided. Officers were elected as follows: Patron, Sir R. Heaton Rhodes; president, Mr M. Nelson; vice-president, Mr J. Coxon; honorary vice-presidents, the Right Hon G. W. Forbes, the Rev E. Hanna, Messrs J. M’Combs, M.P., F. E. Sutton, W. T. Lester, A. M’E>onald, T. Porteous, Hasel, Fletcher and Humphries; committee. Messrs B. Smith, W. Goddard, W. Rickus, H. Mead, V. H. Rees, J. Halliday, A. Large, R. Bennetts, A. Jones, S. Wells, J. Coxon and H. G. Scott; secretary, Mr H. H. Batten; treasurer, Mr J. Halliday; auditors, Messrs A. Large and G. Clarke; trustees, Messrs M. Nelson, H. Batten and A. Large; delegates to Christchurch Returned Soldiers’ Association, Messrs H. H. Batten, H. G. Scott and A. Large; sick visitors, Messrs B. Smith and V. H. Rees. Presentation of Trophies. The presentation of trophies won by members of the Canterbury Yacht and Motor Boat Club during the past season will take place at a social gathering which is to be held in the club hall on Wednesday evening next. Relief of Distress. The Relief Committee will this week issue coal and wood to residents who are in need of firing. Billiards Tournament. S. Wales won the flying yfifty handicap billiards tournament at the Lyttelton Club on Monday evening. A. Albertson was runner-up. Golf Match Postponed. Owing to the bad weather the golf match between the Lyttelton Ladies’ Golf Club and the Avondale Club, which was to have been played at Charteris Bay yesterday, had to be postponed.
